The Spare Tire   June 27th, 2010

Spare tires don’t get used very often… if at all. They take up space and exist for safety purposes only. Nobody drives along willingly with what is known as the “dougnut ” (aka spare tire).

I don’t want my spiritual life to be lived like a spare tire. I want to be used by God everyday. Everywhere. All the time. I don’t want to live safe either. When people begin to talk about balance and wisdom I usually cringe because that really means unbelief and compromise. Neither of which I want associated with me.

No one wants to be the back up or the bench warmer. We were all created to live in the heat of battle not to watch from the sidelines. I’d rather be the tire that pops while driving then the spare that never sees the light of day.
